January 29, 2014

When I started Treasures of Imperial Russia thirty-six years ago I had no idea of the many joys this business would give me.  It has proven to be one grand adventure, giving me entree to wonderful people, places and art.  For whatever reasons, Russia has been and will always remain in my heart and soul.  It has been my great pleasure to discover, obtain and become a conduit for icons, an art form I find sublime.  There are so many layers of beauty, spirituality and thoughtful intelligence in each piece that contemplation of them is a real and meaningful process.

It has been my great privilege to serve my clientele, many who have become friends for life.  It is with bittersweet reluctance that I close my doors this spring.  But the time is definitely right.  There is a wonderful icon dealer who has offered to buy my inventory, making this departure almost too easy.

As grateful as I am, I would like the opportunity to personally place as many icons as I can before May.  There will be deep discounts at my last two shows:

  • Maryland Antiques Show (formerly Hunt Valley), March 1-2 at the Sheraton Baltimore North, Towson, MD (www.marylandantiquesshow.org)
  • Hillsborough Antiques Show and Sale, April 25-27, San Mateo County Event Center, San Mateo, CA (www.hillsboroughantiqueshow.com)

The same lower prices will apply as well to all my non-icon inventory.

Again, I must say I am so fortunate to have been able to work amidst so many fine dealers and clients doing something I love so passionately.  I am truly a very lucky woman.  I hope and trust that many of you will remain in touch with me in the future.

With heartfelt regards and sincere thanks,

Lacey Greer
